Considering Buying A Second Car? Read On

Out of college and into the real world. I was like a wild mustang ready to face the horizon. Fresh from my college degree, I knew I was the master of my fate and seeker of my destiny. It was my last couple of days in town and I was off to the city. It was pleasant Sunday afternoon, I was racing to a party and midway, with a sudden grunt, the engine went dead. So, that was how my old, but not so faithful car died. And it was time to get a new one.

Being fresh out of college, money was a very limited resource. All I had were a few grands in my account. It simply wasn’t enough. And facing the city on my own, I needed a reliable car that wouldn’t stall. My old car was ancient by all standard, the newer one should not only be reliable, but has to look good as well.

As always, I started my search for used cars online. I chanced upon forums discussing Japan car auctions online and how you can get great deals. Most comments were on how good used Japanese cars were. This was mainly because the Japanese seem to keep their cars well maintained. That said, I found out how easy it was to participate and bid on Japanese car auctions online.

Most Japanese car auction sites are very easy to use, and they offer excellent customer service. We all know how the Japanese deal with honor and discipline. Every car put up for auction is inspected by a trained auction inspector, the report is useful and should be referred to before bidding. The inspector’s report contain a full and almost complete inspection of a car.

The various details include car make, model, condition of the exterior and interior, engine condition, mileage, scratches repairs etc.

To participate in the auction, I had to register with the exporter, they even had a free trial period offer. Once you register and want to bid, you must set a maximum bid limit, this is to avoid overbidding since the exporter will be bidding on your behalf. When I was ready, I started to place my bid and learned that these auctions were done in an instant.

I was happy with the result. I got my Japanese car at 4 grand. Not bad for a slightly used, fuel efficient, reliable car.
